From November 10 to 14, the emergenCITY research staff gathered in the Lab at Mornewegstraße for a week-long Barcamp. In this format, participants traditionally design the program themselves and set their own topics on the agenda. Consequentally, Nicklas Sammet organized [a workshop on patent law] (https://www.emergencity.de/news/ghj/), Jonas Franz and Hendrik Wingbermühle gave an introduction to self-hosting, and Frank Hessel provided information about basic training at Technisches Hilfswerk. During an excursion to the Lichtwiese campus, Robin Müller presented the software, hardware, and regulatory framework he uses to fly unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) there.
The emergenCITY missions exchanged ideas about their joint projects, and the new Extreme Communication mission also held a meeting. Furthermore, attendees discussed their experiences using the knowledge management tool Obsidian. The event also featured a comprehensive social program, including a group lunch and a game night. In 2026, there will be the next Barcamp during the summer months.
