From August 24 to 26, the research staff at emergenCITY organized their last Barcamp. For three days, the researchers gathered at the emergenCITY Lab for self-organized workshops, collaborative work sessions, and a relaxed social program.

This year, the focus was on presenting specific programs and tools that participants encounter in their day-to-day work. They organized an introduction to tactical symbols and situation maps, a session to share experiences with programming using Claude Code, and a 3D modeling workshop. In other sessions, research associates presented programming paradigms in C++ and the open-source tool Kubernetes.

The Barcamp is a recurring event that researchers have been attending since the research center’s start to present their projects and research, engage in interdisciplinary discussions, and advance their work. The participants always organize the program themselves based on their interest and preferences.
