Entrepreneurship

At emergenCITY, the development of resilient digital infrastructures is at the heart of our research in order to better protect cities from disasters and ensure the safety of the population. However, the full potential of scientific findings only unfolds when they are taken beyond the laboratory and put into practice. This is where knowledge and technology transfer plays a crucial role.

Our entrepreneurship team contributes to such transfer by guiding emergenCITY researchers in translating the potential of their research beyond academia. Through special workshops, we help them generate ideas that address real customer needs and evaluate the commercialisation potential of their research. We promote the exchange between science and industry by initiating and supporting collaborations between researchers and start-ups. In addition to these practice-orientated transfer activities, we also focus on research into resilient entrepreneurship ecosystems. Our aim is to find out how these ecosystems can be strengthened in times of crisis to enable long-term innovation and sustainable growth.
