In the winter semester 2023/2024, the lecture series “Secure Critical Infrastructures” will be offered for the 10th time in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Social and Historical Sciences at TU Darmstadt. The organizers are Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Hollick (Secure Mobile Networks - SEEMOO), Prof. Dr. Jens Ivo Engels (Modern and Contemporary History) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Christian Reuter (Science and Technology for Peace and Security - PEASEC).

Partners of the event are the LOEWE Center emergenCITY, the DFG Research Training Group KRITIS and the Research Area Safer Urban Infrastructures of the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity. The event is part of the TU profile topics Cybersecurity as well as Complex Interconnected Systems. Critical infrastructures (CRITIS) are “organizations or facilities of vital importance to the governmental community, the failure or impairment of which would result in sustained supply shortages, significant disruptions to public safety, or other dramatic consequences.” (BMI, 2009)

The series of events will focus on various critical infrastructures and their security challenges. As in previous years, speakers from research institutions, companies, public authorities and operators of critical infrastructures have been invited to give presentations on individual aspects of the topic.
