Science Meets Regions” is a new program of the European Commission that promotes science-policy dialogue at regional and local levels. The Rhine-Main Universities (RMU), which include Technical University of Darmstadt, Goethe University Frankfurt and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, have been selected for a pilot project. Under the program, they will offer dialogue opportunities for politicians from Hessian and Rhineland-Palatinate state institutions and city administrations on issues concerning green and digital transformations.

One of the dialogue formats is initiated by LOEWE emergenCITY together with the research area Energy and Environment of the Technical University of Darmstadt: At a visiting day on March 30, 2023, at the Lichtwiese Campus, politicians will be visiting several research facilities on the topics of energy, resilient infrastructures, and digitalization. This includes a lecture on emergenCITY’s research and a tour of our energy self-sufficient Smart House eHUB. The project will continue in May with up to 100 face-to-face meetings between politicians and researchers from the Rhine-Main universities and other research institutes of the region.

Registration

Registration for the visiting day in March as well as for the talks in May is possible here until 10.03. and 05.03.2023.
