The emergenCITY management team now consists of the scientific coordinator Matthias Hollick and three deputies: Michèle Knodt, Anja Klein and Christian Reuter. On April 28, Christian Reuter was accepted by the Board of Directors in his new role as deputy spokesperson. The Professor of Science and Technology for Peace and Security (PEASEC) at TU Darmstadt takes over this role from Max Mühlhäuser, who will continue to accompany emergenCITY as Distinguished Emeritus.
Christian Reuter has been Principal Investigator at emergenCITY in the Program Areas Information and City and Society since the beginning of emergenCITY in 2020, and since October 2024 he has also been a member of the Directorate and Head of the Information Program Area. His research focuses on Cybersecurity and Privacy, Peace and Conflict Research and Human Computer Interaction. In emergenCITY, he and his team are researching digital self-organization in crises and digital warning systems from the perspective of Human Computer Interaction.
