The Call for Papers for the International Conference on Swarm Intelligence ANTS 2026 is open: Papers can now be submitted for the conference in Darmstadt from June 8-10, 2026. Under the theme “Reaching beyond - Swarm Intelligence across Systems, Disciplines, and Communities”, the conference will bring together international researchers and experts from fields such as robotics, optimization, collective intelligence and distributed systems at the darmstadtium in Darmstadt.

Swarm intelligence is a rapidly developing field of interdisciplinary research based on the study of self-organizing processes in natural and artificial systems. This included, for example, decision-making in insect colonies. Methods and algorithms based on swarm intelligence are particularly effective, adaptable, and resilient.

emergenCITY supports organizing ANTS 2026. With Roderich Groß, Principal Investigator at emergenCITY and Professor and Head of the Resilient Cyber-Physical Systems Lab at TU Darmstadt, a member of emergenCITY will take over the General Chair and play a key role in shaping the conference organization.

Broad range of topics and international keynotes

ANTS 2026 invites submissions from the entire spectrum of swarm intelligence - from theoretical foundations and applications in robotics and artificial intelligence to social and artistic perspectives. Keynote speeches will be given by Sharon Glotzer (University of Michigan) and Tamás Vicsek (Eötvös Loránd University), among others. The deadline for submissions is November 10, 2025.
