Markus Henkel, M.Sc. is a research associate and doctoral student at the chair of PEASEC in the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt. His research interests lie at the intersection of human-computer interaction and safety- and security-related topics. His work focuses on the user-friendly design of emerging technologies and their evaluation in user studies. Markus completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science. In his Master’s thesis, he explored users’ perspectives on peer-to-peer-based communication, which can support neighborhoods’ digital self-organization during Internet outages.
