Dr. Mohsen Dehghani Darmian

Scientist

Department of Engineering and Water Management (ihwb)

Mohsen Dehghani Darmian is a postdoctoral scientific staff member at the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources Management (ihwb) at TU Darmstadt. Previously, he was the first Postdoc Climate Protection Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at TU Darmstadt. His research focuses on the impacts of climate change on water quality and quantity, as well as the development of AI-based prediction models to support resilient water management. Within emergenCITY, he applies Genetic Programming and machine learning methods to improve river discharge forecasting, especially for extreme weather events. He has extensive experience in numerical modeling, AI techniques, water resources management, and reliability analysis. He has authored numerous scientific publications and supervised several theses. His goal is to develop practical, data-driven tools for climate adaptation and crisis preparedness in water infrastructure systems.
